International Max Planck Research School for Biology And Computation (IMPRS-BAC)

The application deadline is January 6th, 2023 (23:59 CET)

News from Oct 23, 2022

Apply now for a doctoral position in the joint graduate program of the Freie Universität Berlin (Department of Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy and Department of Mathematics and Computer Science) and the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin.

Candidates should submit a specific research proposal to be carried out with one of the participating research group. Available projects are presented here: https://www.molgen.mpg.de/IMPRSPhDprojects. Candidates may use the proposed projects as a starting point for a longer proposal but they can also submit another innovative project, provided it is within the scope of the research school.

Applications will be accepted only through the online application platform. The application deadline is January 6th, 2023 (23:59 CET). Candidates should hold a master's degree in a relevant subject (e.g. molecular biology, bioinformatics, biochemistry, mathematics, physics, biotechnology). For exceptional students with a bachelor's degree in the computational/mathematical sciences only we offer the preparatory program which allows you to attend lectures for three semesters and start on your PhD research after a qualifying exam, without submitting a master's thesis. Some knowledge of German may be required for the preparatory program.

We are looking forward to your application!
