The "German-Brazilian Digital Education Forum" brings together Brazilian and German experts on the various facets of digital education
News from Oct 27, 2021
The free event aims at promoting the exchange of experiences and ideas regarding digital transformation in education in both countries. The German-Brazilian Digital Education Forum, which is aimed at teachers of all levels of education (secondary, higher education, postgraduate, masters, doctoral and technical), as well as managers of educational institutions, will take place on November 10, between 3pm and 7pm CET, via Zoom. After the conclusion of the Forum, which will feature nine short lectures, in English, by Brazilian and German professionals, all participants, who so wish, will receive a certificate of participation.
"The need for the event came from the current global phenomenon of digital transformation in education, with the aim of fostering the creation of networks to exchange information and experiences, in order to face the new challenges of educational management. Different educational systems, realities, and strategies for digital transformation in the two countries serve to provide impetus on the topic and show how each deals with this challenge. The approach will serve as mutual inspiration for both, presenting innovative concepts that will be discussed during the Forum", explains Maxi Neidhardt, coordinator of the Gesellschaft für akademische Studienvorbereitung und Testentwicklung (g.a.s.t.) office in Brazil.
The first part of the Forum will address the digital transformation in universities and will feature lectures from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Society for Academic Preparation and Test Development (g.a.s.t.), and professors from the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), and Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR). Among the topics covered are platforms and concepts of digital education, telecollaboration, virtual cooperation & exchange, intercultural communication, and foreign language teacher training.
The second part will focus exclusively on digital education in schools. The speakers will discuss methodology and didactics in foreign language teaching, digital projects for schools, language diagnosis, educational mobility, development of competences in STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and pedagogy in elementary school. Participating in this phase are the German school Colégio Visconde de Porto Seguro (Valinhos-SP), the Technical University of Munich, Freie Universität Berlin and the Goethe-Institut.
