Welcome to the Website of the São Paulo Office of Freie Universität Berlin

An International University

At Freie Universität Berlin, individuals from more than 125 countries study, conduct research, or work in other capacities.

The São Paulo Office

As a liaison office, we provide our services for prospective students and researchers in Brazil, as well as members and alumni of Freie Universität.

The Maria Sibylla Merian Centre Conviviality-Inequality in Latin America has been established in São Paulo in 2017.

Our Partners

Freie Universität Berlin has partnered up with four Brazilian universities for student exchange.

Events and Cooperation

We organize events in close cooperation with our partners in Brazil and Berlin.

Study and Research in Berlin

We inform and counsel students as well as junior and senior researchers from the region on German and European funding opportunities.

Freie Universität Berlin is one of eleven German universities of excellence. As an international network university, it has established offices abroad in New York, Beijing, New Delhi, Moscow, Brussels and Cairo. In October 2010, another office was inaugurated in São Paulo in order to increase academic and scientific cooperation between Freie Universität and universities and research centers in Brazil and South America.

The primary concern of the São Paulo Office is to attract promising talents from the region for a study or research stay in Berlin, to facilitate scholarly cooperation, and to identify suitable instruments for cooperation in student exchange.
