Workshop series: Joyful Stress Reduction & Wellness

The 4-day workshop series "Joyful Stress Reduction & Wellness" is offered to all FU students & postdocs who would like to learn ways to maintain mental and physical balance and to deal better with stress. Through meditation, mindful movement (yoga), joyful & interesting interactive exercises and sharing, students will learn about the mechanism of stress, our automatic responses to stress that may not be serving us well, investigate our ways of seeing the world and ourselves (our perspectives), learn and experience ways to calm and focus the mind and take care of ourselves.
The aim is to be introduced to knowledge and ancient methods of mindfulness that today are rediscovered and utilized by psychologists, neuroscientists and others. The knowledge and practice can help focus the mind, calm the mind and body, improve body awareness, perspective taking, and support us in dealing better with stresses of life by coming back to balance more quickly. No previous experience necessary. Please wear sportive clothes that allow movement, bring a yoga mat (and meditation cushion if you have one), and your smile.
