Call for Applications: Funding Opportunities Workshop

This year’s Funding Opportunities Workshop is organized in cooperation with Scholars at Risk and will be held at the University of Cologne on 20 March 2020, 9.30 am – 4 pm.

News from Feb 04, 2020

The workshop aims to inform at-risk and refugee scholars about funding opportunities in Germany and Europe in order to enable them to apply for suitable programs before their current fellowships run out.

The workshop is divided into a morning and an afternoon session. During the morning session, general information on how to apply for the DFG Individual Research Grant will be given, as well as information on other programs in Germany and on the European level. In the afternoon, participants are encouraged to network, exchange ideas, and to talk to scholars who have already succeeded in obtaining a DFG-fellowship. The workshop will be held in addition to the DFG Individual Research Grant Write-up Workshop.

If you are interested in participating, please send a short message with your name, field of research, and your institutional affiliation to Judith Nebe (jnebe@smail.uni-koeln.de) by 1 March 2020. If there are other programs you would like to know about, please also let us know, and we will try to accommodate your requests.

Scholars from universities in NRW should direct inquiries on the reimbursement of travel costs to their respective universities. As the workshop is planned primarily for scholars from Cologne and the surrounding NRW-universities, AiS can only pay for the accommodation of already registered participants of the parallel DFG Individual Research Grant Write-Up Workshop. If your university cannot sponsor your travel expenses, AiS can refund your cost in exceptional cases.

The official call can be found here.
