Applications for the 9th call of the Philipp Schwartz Initiative as a part of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation can be submitted until 5 March 2021. For the first time, applications can be submitted not only in a research fellowship programme line, but also in an employment contract programme line.

Any scholar from non-EU countries can be nominated if they are exposed to significant and acute risks. Scholars must be nominated by institutions and cannot apply directly. Successful institutions will receive funds to grant the nominated scholar research stays of 24 months. They will also receive a lump sum intended for measures to support Philipp Schwartz fellows in integrating and in re-starting their careers. An extension of up to 12 months can be granted in the framework of a co-financing model.
