More Support for Afghan Scholars with New Bridge Scholarships and the Hilde Domin Program

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) are expanding their support for Afghan students and researchers with funding from the Federal Foreign Office.
- Hilde Domin Program: The DAAD is planning a special quota for Afghan scholars within the frame of the Hilde Domin Program for refugee and persecuted students and doctoral candidates. About thirty additional fellowships are to be awarded for this purpose next year.
- Bridge Scholarships: Afghans who have arrived in Germany can receive additional bridge funding to expand their academic career with about 60 bridge scholarship from DAAD. The Humboldt Foundation is also planning about 20 one-year bridge scholarships for academics at risk. The funding includes family-related benefits and funds for further linguistic and professional qualification.
