FAQs

During the maintenance work, the impacted buildings will be completely closed and cannot be accessed. Please check your usual communication channels (e.g., information from your instructors or department, as well as Campus Management) to find out whether your class will take place at a different location, online, or be canceled.

Office hours cannot take place in the closed buildings on that day. Please consult the websites of your instructor or department for information on whether office hours will be offered online or at an alternative location.

Access to the buildings will not be possible during the maintenance work. Please coordinate with your supervisor to determine whether you can work from home or use another workplace on campus.

Please secure your systems and equipment well in advance of the power shutdown. There will be no power supply available between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Refrigerators will generally maintain their temperature during that time, provided they remain closed.

If you have questions regarding technical issues, please contact the facilities management office or the Central Control Room (zentralwarte@fu-berlin.de, Tel.: +49 30 838 55555).

The libraries in these buildings will remain closed on the maintenance days (for example, the Philological Library). Please use another library or access electronic resources online on those days. Loan periods may be adjusted automatically; up-to-date information is available on the respective library websites and here.

No, unfortunately, you may not. For safety reasons, the buildings will be completely closed on the specified days. Access will not be possible, even for just a brief moment, as technicians will be carrying out work on the electrical infrastructure.
