Higher School of Economics

Freie Universität has temporarily suspended all academic relations with Russian research institutes and universities.

The Higher School of Economics (HSE) was established in 1992 and is now one of the leading Russian universities with a focus in economics and social sciences. It has gained a status of a National Research University in 2010. There are 25,000 students of HSE now with about 16,000 of them studying in Moscow and the rest - in the St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Perm branches. 2,500 professors and lecturers work in those 4 campuses. A total of 10 faculties offer more than 75 study programs.Almost 800 doctoral students, half of whom come from other universities are currently enrolled at the HSE.

In the summer of 2015 a general cooperation agreement is signed, which is the result of increased co-operation especially in the field of youth development.

Master students of Sociology exchange
An exchange agreement between the Eastern Institute and the Institute of Sociology of Freie Universität and the Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Moscow was signed in 2013. Up to four students get an opportunity to start studying at the partner university for 1 or 2 semesters.
