The Moscow Office of Freie Universität Berlin provides services for all members of Freie Universität Berlin, its alumni, and (prospective) students, researchers, and partners in Russia and the CIS, who want to inform themselves about Freie Universität Berlin and its offers in Russia, and who are interested in cooperation.
As a first contact point the Moscow Office answers questions about undergraduate and graduate study programs in Berlin and Russia, gives advice on doctoral/PhD studies and research stays at Freie Universität, and supports the initiation and furthers the development of joint projects with Russian partners, including advice about funding mobility and research.
Through different information channels like this website, the newsletter FURUSINFO, and social media, the Moscow Office individuals informs in Russia and neighboring countries about current opportunities for programs and scholarships, events related to the region, and also about recent scientific news from Berlin. In addition to reports in regional mass media, it regularly organizes information seminars in higher education institutions throughout Russia, and conducts webinars on topics like studying, obtaining a doctoral degree, or the organization of a research stay at Freie Universität Berlin.
Thanks to the experience of many years in the implementation of the future development concept “International Network University” in Russia, Tobias Stüdemann, head of the Moscow office since 2010, gives talks on conferences and holds seminars on questions like development of international university cooperation, internationalization of universities, and its practical implementation in a German-Russian context.
