The extent of interdisciplinary cooperation within the CSI makes it unique (Figure 1). Internationally distinguished principal investigators from the pharmacy, biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics departments of the Frei Universität (FU) Berlin, Humboldt University Berlin (HU), the Max Planck (MPI) and Helmholtz Societies, Gesellschaft für Kernenergieverwertung in Schiffbau und Schiffahrt GmbH (GKSS), and the University of Delhi have joined together in sixteen equally interdisciplinary projects at the cutting edge of supramolecular chemistry.
