Brasilidades Conference on May 5 & 6

On May 5 and 6, an international conference on the subject of: „Brasilidades. Jewish Belonging in Brazilian Literature“ will be hosted by the Dahlem Humanities Center of Freie Universität Berlin, in collaboration with the center for Jewish Studies of the Universidade de São Paulo (USP), the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), and the Goethe-Institut São Paulo.

The conference venue will be the Goethe-Institut of São Paulo, where literary scholars and contemporary authors will discuss the variety of Jewish literature in Brazil.

The conference is planned and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Susanne Zepp. in collaboration with the São Paulo Office of Freie Universität, as well as Prof. Dr. Luis Krausz, author and professor for Hebrew and Jewish literature at USP, and Prof. Dr. Márcio Seligmann, professor for literary theory and comparative studies at UNICAMP. The event is funded by Freie Universität Berlin and by the initiative "Germany + Brazil 2013-2014".
