Art Installation by mp Warming
Inspired by the architecture of the library, known as the "Berlin Brain”, American action artist mp Warming has encrypted Lord Norman Foster’s architectural plans with charts and graphs from Neuroscientists at the Freie Universität Berlin and with her own drawings of lepidoptera in stages of metamorphosis. These 33 transparent prints were created as a metaphor to transmit ideas outwards from the intellectual source. The project is a traveling work in progress, and will transform to reflect the specific ideas and architecture of each library and university on which it alights.
