Cooking with Professor Bolle and European Guests

For the second time Freie Universität Berlin will organise a seminar entitled "Euro-Cuisine: Cooking with Professor Bolle and European Guests”. This unique seminar is aimed to link scientific research on European issues with an outstanding experience in the art of cooking. A small group of students of the Department of Political Science will enjoy a social event – cooking with a prominent chef – and then will have the pleasure to discuss political issues with most distinguished representatives of European countries – perhaps the ambassadors themselves.
Taking the presidency of the Council of the European Union as the point of departure we will focus on Finland, Portugal and France:
- 21.11.2000 the attaché of Finland, Mrs. Koucku-Ronde, and her cook, Mrs. Mira Halonen,
- 16.12.2000, the ambassador of Portugal, H.E. João Diogo Nunes Barata with the cook of the ambassy
- 10.01.2001 a French guest of honour with a French cook will join the event
At this three different evenings, the subject will be "A New Europe: A Challenge for ......” . The idea is to learn about the expectations and hopes as well as risks and problems involved in the process of future developments in Europe from the national perspective.
Following the cooking period students will serve and eat a delicious three course dinner. After the main course the guest of honour will give a talk about our topic. Students are then invited to discuss main issues and exchange ideas from their point of view.
A tasty dessert, some coffee and a digestive will round off this culinary and scientific experience.
