Watersheds of Internationalization: Debating the Future of the International Student Experience
The first event in the series of “FUB Lunch-time Debates on the Future of Higher Education Internationalization” in cooperation with the HRK will focus on the internationalization of the student experience with two diverging views from Germany and the UK. In times of unsure budgets, looming political crises, climate change, and now a pandemic, how can the positive aspects of an international student experience, both abroad and on campus, be maintained? How can we, as universities, create supportive and inspiring conditions for our international students and be good hosts for them even within the current framework? How can we create international campuses, even if they are virtual for the time being? How are partnerships, mobility, and the value of an international experience changing? Is global competence at risk for the current generation of students?
