UZH International Summer Schools - online

Trotz der aktuellen Situation werden die Summer Schools der Universität Zürich dieses Jahr stattfinden; aufgrund der starken Reisebeschränkungen werden sie online durchgeführt. Die Studierenden können 6 ECTS erhalten. DIe Kurse finden vom 5. - 24. Juli 2020 statt.

Folgende Programme sind im Angebot: 

Deep Dive into Blockchain - Linking Economics, Technology and Law
For a full understanding of Blockchain, with all its implications and potential for application in practice, it is absolutely crucial to look at it from a multidisciplinary perspective. In this online summer school, students will understand the three key pillars of blockchain systems, namely the technology, the economics and the legal aspects behind it. Building on this, they will then explore other fields of application, such as forensics and data analytics. This program is highly interactive, with hands-on practice sessions offered by blockchain experts from Switzerland, Austria, China, Germany, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom!

Finance for the Future: Investments, Sustainable Finance and FinTech
This online summer school will focus on the past, present and future development of the Swiss financial system and wealth management in Switzerland. Students will enhance their knowledge in macroeconomics and finance. Furthermore, they will learn about the most recent and promising trends in FinTech and Sustainable Finance, and will apply their gained knowledge in a portfolio management game. During the course, students will also discuss the impact of the current global health situation on the financial markets. Participating in this online summer school will not only allow students to learn theoretical aspects about finance, but also to interact with practitioners and experts from academia. A unique opportunity to expand their network!

How Switzerland got rich - What defines a country's success?
This Summer School looks at the development of Switzerland into one of the richest and most globalized countries in the world. Students will be introduced to the state of research and scholarly debate on “how Switzerland got rich”. Participants will evaluate this topic from a sociological, historical, economical, and political point of view. During this course, the students will further compare Switzerland to other countries and will explore their similarities and differences. By doing so, they will examine which historical, sociological, and political factors have to be taken into account when explaining a country's success. Last but not least, this will also help to understand why countries react differently to crises such as the one we are all currently witnessing with COVID-19.
