Andreas Paulsen

Andreas Paulsen (born March 4, 1899 in Flensburg; died December 14, 1977 in Berlin), a professor of economics, was elected rector of Freie Universität in July 1955.

Paulsen studied economics in Leipzig and Kiel. From 1946 to 1947, he was a lecturer in Leipzig, followed by a professorship in Jena from 1947 to 1948.

Paulsen served as a professor of economics at Freie Universität Berlin starting in 1949. He retired in 1967.

John F. Kennedy at Freie Universität

His speech at Schöneberg’s City Hall on June 26, 1963, is etched in memory, but the content of Kennedy’s speech at Freie Universität was actually more important.
