Enrollment in programs with unrestricted admission
1. General Information
Information on application and admission periods as well as further information on respective degree programs is available on our study programs website. If you additionally applied for a restricted/limited admissions program, kindly await the decision before applying for enrollment into an unrestricted admissions program.

2. Summer Semester 2022 enrollment in Bachelor´s programs with unrestricted admission (higher semester)
Information for prospective students with German higher education entrance qualifications
From February 01 - March 07, 2022 prospective students with German higher education entrance qualifications (regardless of nationality) that fulfill all relevant requirements (e.g., language test) can apply online for summer semester 2022 unrestricted admission single-subject Bachelor´s degree programs (first or higher semester). Subsequent documentation has to be submitted via postal mail. Please note that the enrollment application is not effective until the signed application form is received by mail within the deadline.
If you are already enrolled at Freie Universität Berlin and would like to change your program of study to an admission-free bachelor's program, please use the Application to Change Programs.
Prospective students interested in combination Bachelor’s degree programs with unrestricted admission in core subject (Kernfach) and module (Modulangebot)should complete the online admissions application. Please consider the differing application period. Upon successful application you will receive an admissions notice. Thereafter, you can apply for enrollment by submitting your application for enrollment together with a copy of your admissions notice and subsequent documents via postal mail.
Information for prospective students with Non-German higher education entrance qualifications
If you have obtained a Non-German general university entrance qualification (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung), please apply via uni-assist (deadline is March 07, 2022):
- All those interested in admission-free single-subject Bachelor’s degree programs for first or higher semester.
- All those interested in admission-free combination Bachelor’s degree programs with free admission in core subject (Kernfach) and module (Modulangebot). Please apply within the respective application period.
Once the application was successful prospective students receive an admissions notice by mail. This admissions notice can then be submitted together with the enrollment application and other relevant documents by postal mail.

Professional qualified prospective students

3. Enrollment in Master´s programs with unrestricted/free admission for summer semester 2022 (first or higher semester)
These programs are free of admission restrictions, however they are subject to a valid admissions notice.
Prospective students must complete the admissions application online within the respective deadlines. Once the application was successful prospective students receive an admissions notice by mail. This admissions notice can then be submitted together with the enrollment application and other relevant documents by postal mail.
Your enrollment is subject to a limited term until specific requirements have been met (foreign language courses required before beginning your program, preparatory course (Studienkolleg), studies of the subject on the condition that you attend German courses at the same time, exchange program).
