The English-language courses are mainly available in the Natural Sciences and Social Sciences. It does not apply to Law and Economics and not to Japanese Studies.
All exchange students can attend Japanese courses for beginners, for which certificates of attendance can be issued.
MA students and PhDs are usually enrolled as "guest researchers", in Tsukuba no credit points are awarded at Master and PhD level.
Applicants for the "Japanese Program" must have Japanese language skills.
A JASSO scholarship may be offered for the semester places in the English-speaking Asia program in addition to the tuition waiver.
