As a way of showing solidarity, many publishers are making electronic resources freely available

News from May 07, 2020

While all Freie Universität Berlin libraries (University Library and department libraries) are only offering limited services because of the COVID-19 pandemic, books, journal articles, newspaper articles, and many more sources in electronic format remain accessible for Freie Universität members. That content is searchable on the library portal Primo (http://primo.fu-berlin.de), where it is documented in approximately a billion records. For remote access, a valid ZEDAT-Account is required (please observe the Terms and Conditions of Use for Electronic Resources).

As a way of showing solidarity with universities and students, many publishers are making electronic resources freely available that would otherwise be subject to license. Overall, only University members (students, teachers, researchers, staff) profit from such offers, but in a few cases, content is opened up to the general public. In what follows, you will find two lists of resources that have been made available because of COVID-19; both lists will be updated on a daily basis.

The databases listed here will be covered in the Freie Universität scope of the database infosystem (DBIS) as a separate collection ("Test-Datenbanken"). We also strive to make the individual titles contained in the resources searchable on the library portal Primo (http://primo.fu-berlin.de).
