Förderung FUturrad
The Sustainability & Energy Unit has successfully secured project funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). The funding program established under the National Climate Protection Initiative (NKI), titled "Climate Protection through Bicycle Traffic," allows for the promotion of bicycle parking facilities and the procurement of company bicycles. From 2025 to 2027, the aim is to support the growing interest in sustainable mobility among members of Freie Universität with targeted measures for a bike-friendly campus. This includes the following actions:
- Procurement of 20 e-cargo bikes
- Procurement of 35 company bicycles
- Installation of 634 bike racks/bicycle parking facilities on the Dahlem, Lankwitz, and Düppel campuses
- Installation of bicycle shelters on the Lankwitz and Düppel campuses
- Workshops, public relations, and monitoring during the project period
