Nature Positive Universities 

As the Blooming Campus initiative (and since 2023 as Freie Universität Berlin), we are part of the international network of Nature Positive Universities, committed to the goal of halting biodiversity loss and promoting the restoration of ecosystems.

Berlin Network for Species Knowledge

In 2024, the Berliner Netzwerk für Artenkenntnis was established under the organization of the Stiftung Naturschutz Berlin. In addition to the Blooming Campus and the Botanical Garden Berlin, many other actors dedicated to promoting species knowledge are part of this network.  

Network of University Biodiversity Initiatives

The Blooming Campus was one of the founding members of the Netzwerkes Hochschulinitiativen für Biodiversität and hosted the second network meeting in 2023. The network currently includes 11 initiatives and working groups with similar focuses.  

Sustainability Initiatives at Freie Universität Berlin

Our internal networks, including research, the Botanical Garden, and the sustainability initiatives at Freie Universität Berlin, are particularly important. These include the Schüler:innenUni Sustainability + Climate Protection, the SUSTAIN IT! initiatives, and especially UniGardening.
