Prof. Ziegler helds Lecture on "Sugar cubes, soap bubbles, a revolution and a star: Some stellar images between Mathematics and Physics" in St. Petersburg

Prof. Ziegler, professor of mathematics at Freie Universität Berlin and head of “Discrete Geometry” group and winner - among many others - of the DFG Leibniz Prize (2001) and Communicator Prize of DFG and Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft (2008) will held the first Leibniz Lecture conducted in St. Petersburg.
On Thursday, March 27, alumni, partners and friends of Freie Universität Berlin are heartedly invited to attend the lecture as well as the following recpetion of Freie Universität Berlin at the St. Petersburg branch of the V.A. Steklov Institute. Invited are the Counsel general of the German general consulate in Saint Petersburg as well as scientists from leading universities in St. Petersburg. The event is organized in the context of the international conference "Mathematical Physics: Past, Present, and Future" of the Euler International Mathematical Institute.
