Young university teachers are usually thrown into the deep end. It is simply assumed that they can teach. But different teaching setting as seminars, tutorials and lectures, heterogeneous learner groups or the development of marking criteria are nothing one can handle offhand.
Dahlem Research School therefore strongly promotes formal qualification for teaching in higher education by offering workshops in the frame of our Transferable Skills Program. We also work together with the Berliner Zentrum für Hochschullehre , which now offers a three-phase certificate. Courses taken at Dahlem Research School will be recognized if applicable.
