Originally from the north of Germany, Marike Gohr moved to Berlin in 2010 to study German philology and journalism/communication science at Freie Universität Berlin. After earning a B.A., spending some time traveling in the Americas and working with international students in Berlin, Marike returned to Freie Universität Berlin to receive an M.A. in German as a Foreign Language in 2014, focusing on cultural mediation. During her studies, Marike had the opportunity to study and teach German as a Foreign Language at Universidad de Baja California Sur in Mexico. In 2016, Marike moved abroad again for two semesters with a DAAD scholarship to work as head of the German courses of the language department at Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica.
Marike speaks four languages fluently and has a great passion for language, cultural exchange and the vibrant city of Berlin.
