Fatih Abay holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from Central European University Budapest and is currently preparing his doctoral dissertation at the Europa-Universität-Viadrina in Frankfurt an der Oder and at the EHESS in Paris in the discipline of Cultural Anthropology and Political Sociology. His research interests are Islam and Muslims in Europe, the politics of migration in Germany, secularism, gender, theories on public sphere, and social and political theory. He has taught various courses on these topics at Europa-Universität-Viadrina, such as „Muslims within the Public Sphere and Secularism“, „Gender and Islam“, and „Anthropology of Islam“.
