Dr. Kim Coetzee

Dr. Kim Coetzee studied politics, society and culture and international relations in the UK and South Africa.
While working as a researcher at the University of Cape Town's Energy Research Centre, she completed a doctorate in Energy and Development (2016) with a focus on India's role in the UNFCCC negotiations. Subsequently she held a post-doctoral role focussing on urban energy transitions at the same institute before moving faculties to work on sustainable consumption, the Middle Classes and Agri-Food Ethics in South Africa as a post-doctoral research associate.
Dr. Coetzee has taught and tutored courses focussing on different aspects of the international politics of the responses to climate change and energy transitions. She has worked at the intersection of climate change, politics and inter-governmental politics in academia, think tanks, civil society, and as a consultant in the private sector in Europe and South Africa
