Back to Campus in the Winter Semester 2021/2022
News from Sep 07, 2021
Freie Universität Berlin is planning to return to in-person teaching for the 2021/2022 winter semester while continuing to observe the necessary hygiene and safety measures. Certain departments may continue to offer online or hybrid courses.
We are also planning for employees to return to work on campus. A working group made up of different departments and headed by the Provost is currently working on proposals for how to safely return to on-site operations. On the basis of Berlin’s Third Ordinance on Measures Required to Protect the Population from Infections with the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus, and as a further measure to contain the spread of the ongoing pandemic, Freie Universität Berlin will continue to provide two SARS-CoV-2 antigen self-test kits per week to employees who are working on site.
The practice of wearing protective masks has proven to be a highly effective precaution in containing the spread of the coronavirus. All individuals on the university’s premises and in university buildings are therefore required to wear at least a surgical face mask. Participants in university courses are required to wear an FFP2 mask during classes if it is not possible to maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 m.
