Reducing Contacts to a Minimum and Restricting Mobility

News from Dec 03, 2020

Freie Universität, together with all the other Berlin colleges and universities, will continue to adhere to the regulations and restrictions stipulated in phase 2 of Berlin's phased plan for university operations under pandemic conditions for the foreseeable future.

The holiday shutdown will take place as planned from Wednesday, December 23, 2020, through Sunday, January 3, 2021. As previously announced, for the four calendar weeks from December 14, 2020, through January 8, 2021, classes and exams will take place entirely online.

To additionally minimize contacts before and after the upcoming holidays, most of the buildings will be closed on campus from Monday, December 21, 2020, through Tuesday, January 5, 2021. Exceptions are the libraries, the Botanic Garden, and the laboratories. During this period, most of the university's research and administrative work will take place at home.
