The reduction of on-site operations to only the most essential ones, which started on March 23, 2020, will be extended beyond the initial end date of April 19, 2020. The regulations on essential on-site operations (see https://www.fu-berlin.de/en/sites/coronavirus/news/2020-03-24a.html) will continue to be in effect. The basis for those regulations, the “Ordinance on Measures Necessary to Stem the Spread of the Novel Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) in Berlin,” has been extended until April 26, 2020.

Freie Universität Berlin is in close contact with the Senate Chancellery – Higher Education and Research and the other universities and colleges of Berlin. They are discussing a coordinated approach to potentially adjusting the current regulations. The common goal remains the same: to act responsibly in order to prevent the coronavirus from spreading.
