Freie Universität Berlin (FUB) is one of Germany’s eleven Universities of Excellence. For scholarships holders of the Humboldt Foundation (AvH) and the DAAD, Freie Universität Berlin is the university of preference, and for international students it is the first choice in Germany.
The Beijing Office was opened in 2007 for promoting study and research at Freie Universität Berlin and in China. It facilitates collaboration with Chinese partners and attracts Chinese PhD students and Postdocs to do research at Freie Universität in the framework of the FUB-CSC Program. It's also an information center for counselling and supporting students, scientists and administration from Chinese universities and Freie Universität. The establishment of an alumni network provides connections for academic carreers.
The Beijing Office belongs to the Center for International Cooperation (CIC) at Freie Universität Berlin, and is part of the university's concept of an International Network University.
