The second high-level FOOD 2030 conference will take place in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, on 14 and 15 June 2018. It will be dedicated to Research and Innovation (R&I) as a driver of sustainable food systems transformation.
The event is part of the European Commission's Food 2030 initiative, which was launched in 2015 in order to ensure food and nutrition security in a changing world affected by the combined effects of climate change, resource scarcity, biodiversity decline, malnutrition, shifting demographics and migration. The content of this initiative will have a significant impact on European research funding in the coming years.
During this event, the European Commission will present an update of the FOOD 2030 process and vision towards shaping tomorrow's nutrition and food systems with respect to sustainability, resilience, responsibility, diversity, competitiveness and inclusiveness.
Participants will have the opportunity to exchange views with high-ranking representatives from politics, science and industry on these topics. The registration is open until 25 May 2018.
