On Tuesday, 28 May 2019, the Freie Universität Berlin, in cooperation with the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR), is organising an "Open Talk " in Brussels as part of a series of events organised by the informal university network "UnILiON". The focus of the event will be on the German Excellence Strategy from 2019 on and its opportunities for university research and cooperation.
The Excellence Strategy focuses on universities and aims to strengthen Germany's position as an outstanding research location in the long term as well as to further improve its international competitiveness. The aim is not only to support research at the highest level and to improve research profiles, but also to facilitate cooperation in the research system.
During the event, participants will have the opportunity to get acquainted with national university research in Germany. After a lecture on the excellence strategy by Dr. Oliver Wiegand from the German Research Foundation (DFG), there is also the possibility to exchange ideas at a "Networking Lunch".
