Freie Universität celebrates its 70th anniversary and as a special birthday present we invite you to get to know the university and its eventful history a little better.
The guided tour "1968 at Freie Universität" takes you to where the student movement began: the university campus in Dahlem. Visit with us the locations of this eventful time and find out why of all places Freie Universität was the focus of attention. With treasures from the university archive, we revive Rudi Dutschke's speeches in the Audimax, remind you of creative but also violent protests and take you to the places where Benno Ohnesorg, Fritz Teufel, Gudrun Ensslin and many other prominent actors of "68" studied. We ask what has become of the student movement and what has remained of this time - in our society and at Freie Universität.
Participation is free of charge, but registration is required (maximum 20 participants, the order of registration determines participation). After registration you will receive a confirmation by e-mail with further information. Please note that the tour will be in german.
The tours last about 90 minutes and are carried out on foot, the running distance is about 3 kilometers. A public transport ticket is required for the "1968 at Freie Universität" tour.
