First delegation visit of 2021 at Freie Universität Berlin
FUB welcomes Vice Provost and colleagues from National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

Freie Universität Berlin and the National Autonomous University of Mexico plan to expand their cooperation in research and teaching. Vice Provost Dr. Ken Oyama visited Freie Universität Berlin on July 7, 2021 to sign a cooperation agreement between UNAM’s Postgraduate in Latin American Studies and FUB’s Institute for Latin American Studies. In addition to the cooperation agreements already in place, the new agreement will help to expand the universities’ cooperation by developing and implementing joint online and hybrid courses in Latin American Studies. Dr. Oyama was accompanied by Dr. Federico Fernández, director of UNAM’s office in Paris, UNAM France, as well as Ms. Andrea Guillén de la Rosa, Deputy Director of the International Head Office.
They were welcomed by FUB’s Vice President for Research, Prof. Dr. Marianne Braig, Prof. Dr. Sérgio Costa, Head of the Institute of Latin American Studies, Prof. Dr. Stefan Rinke, responsible for the new agreement as well as Dr. Herbert Grieshop, Director of International Affairs in the “Goldener Saal,” a historic room in the Präsidium building, where the president’s office is located.
UNAM maintains an office at FUB’s International House, UNAM Alemania, represented in the meeting by the office director, Dr. Alejandro Velázquez.
