First Una Europa Student Congress: European Students Come Together
On February 24, 2021, the first Una Europa Student Congress took place.
Mar 01, 2021
Over 300 undergraduate and graduate students of the eight member universities participated in the first Una Europa Student Congress (next to Freie Universität Berlin: Università di Bologna, University of Edinburgh, KU Leuven, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Uniwersytet Jagielloński Krakow, Helsingin Yliopisto and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne).
The goal of the event was to promote the idea of Una Europa and present specific opportunities to get involved in the network. Above all, the World Café, in which several initiatives like the Future University Lab were introduced, as well as the My University sessions hosted by the eight member universities generated interest among the students. The interactive bingo engaged the participants and resulted in ten lucky winners of Una Europa merchandise.
Under the title “Dream your European University of the Future”, a prize will be awarded for creative ideas on how to design the European university of the future. Students of all member universities are called to form teams and submit their ideas. For more information on the Una Europa Prize, klick here.
The organizers and involved members of the Una Europa Student Board made it clear: There is still a lot of room within Una Europa to develop a vision of a new European understanding of universities, and it needs the input and perspective of students. The high number of participants made it difficult to interact with everyone; future congresses will create more room for this. The next one will take place this October.
