New in the International Affairs Division
Dr. Nadia Zysman supports academic networks and introduces herself.
May 28, 2021
After graduating in Political Science from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, I first came to Berlin in 2005 to complete a one-year fellowship in History at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Then, in 2012, I completed my PhD in Modern and Contemporary History at the Institute for Latin American Studies of Freie Universität Berlin.
Afterwards, I worked at Freie Universität Berlin in various postdoctoral positions, not only conducting research but also maintaining and expanding international research collaborations in Latin America and Israel. Thus, over the years, I have become increasingly involved in research coordination issues and now, since the beginning of the year, I have the opportunity to further develop this interest through my new position in the International Affairs Division.
Currently, I am looking at ways to improve international recruitment at FUB. I am particularly concerned with Alexander von Humboldt Foundation grantees and international postdocs. The questions I deal with are: Why are some areas of the university particularly successful in recruiting international researchers, while others are less so? How can the experiences of individual professors be used across institutions? And what obstacles that international researchers face can be minimized through better workflows? In this way, I hope to support FUB's existing academic networks and exchange partnerships. I look forward to working with the teams from the Academic Relations and CIC units, where I have the most points of contact for my work.
