New to the CIC Team: Roma Gendera
Roma Gendera will take on Florian Kohstall’s and Romain Faure’s positions for the duration of their family leaves
Jun 08, 2021
I studied German and Cultural Anthropology in Bonn and have been working in internationalization since graduation, for example at Pädagogischer Austauschdienst and the Goethe-Institute. At Engagement Global, the service for development initiatives in Germany, I worked as a project coordinator in public education, later as project manager for the initiative “Communal know-how for the Middle East.” From 2017 to 2020, I was a DAAD lecturer in Zimbabwe.
Now, I’m looking forward to working at the Division for International Affairs at Freie Universität Berlin, more specifically at the Center for International Cooperation, where I will take on the position of Dr. Florian Kohstall while he is on family leave. In the area of Global Responsibility, I will work on the programs Welcome@FUBerlin, Academics in Solidarity and Academy in Exile. I will also cover the area of scientific freedom. Additionally, I will stand in for Dr. Romain Faure who coordinates the Berlin Center for Global Engagement (BCGE) of the Berlin University Alliance. BCGE is a platform for projects in research cooperation with the global south, for research diplomacy and academic freedom. Romain Faure will be on family leave until January 2022, Florian Kohstall until October 2021.
