Support for the Internationalization of Teaching

Through further internationalization of the formal (content of studies) and informal (supplemental offerings) curriculum, Freie Universität aims to give all its students opportunities to be prepared for their future in a globalized (work) environment.

This internationality should be available to all students, regardless of their chosen subject, and it is not only defined by stays abroad, but rather starting on the campus of Freie Universität in Berlin, which is continuing to become a more diverse place for students and faculty.

Therefore, we aim to:

  • Provide all students at Freie Universität access to a substantial international experience during their studies, which could be a semester abroad, but is not limited to it
  • Establish specific international content in as many courses as possible
  • Extend the range of studies for students who do not speak German and to expand the multilingual skills of all our students
  • Utilize the already existing diversity on campus and the perspectives of international students and faculty directly for the further development of studying and teaching

Applications for grants for specific measures to support the internationalization of teaching can be submitted to the International Affairs office. Please ask us for further information and forms.
