Junges Wissenschaftsforum Dahlem invites junior researchers to discuss the current research climate
Science and research are currently under major forms of pressure around the world. Brexit may threaten freedom of movement within the EU and right of residence for academics in Great Britain. In the USA, climate research is being obstructed and science in general called into question. Worse yet is the situation in Turkey, where thousands of academics have lost their jobs as a result of repressive government measures, or in Hungary, where the liberal Central European University is due to be closed down. What should the academic community be doing about this and how? Is it on us to be getting involved in the surrounding politics? Junges Wissenschaftsforum Dahlem will present different perspectives and host an open discussion on the issue. An event in cooperation with the Dahlem Research School.
