Besides academic research, teaching plays an essential role at the German Studies Center (ZDS). The principle element is the interdisciplinary jointly organized master's degree program “German Culture and Social Change,” which qualifies graduates of different disciplines not only to become experts in their subjects, but also for Germany.

In addition to the Chinese professors, German lecturers teach within the framework of short-term lectureships or other teaching assignments at the ZDS and take part in the supervision of master's theses.

German exchange students contribute to the language training as tutors and attend courses at Peking University themselves.

The master's degree program includes two semesters in Berlin.
