The ProFile survey is carried out by the Institute for Research Information and Quality Assurance (iFQ) in collaboration with different partners.
The ProFile longitudinal study focuses on structures and conditions of doctoral education as well as on postdoctoral careers. Since April 2009, doctoral candidates of different universities and other institutions are surveyed at regular intervals. Special attention is paid to the effects of structured doctoral programs.
Doctoral candidates and doctoral holders of the Freie Universität Berlin are invited via e-mail to participate in the ProFile study.
The Profile survey is conducted by means of an online questionnaire at three intervals of time:
Freie Universität is regularly provided with the results of the survey via an annual reporting system and gains important insights into the conditions and structures of doctoral education.
Dahlem Research School is responsible for cooperation with the iFQ and the registration and transmission of data. Data delivery is based on a contractual agreement between iFQ and Freie Universität Berlin. iFQ receives the contact data of doctoral candidates in order to invite them to take part in the survey.
Further information on the Profile data privacy guidelines can be found at the iFQ website.
