Participating Focus Areas and Research Topics (DRS-REGAIN-2013)

Starting in 2011, Dahlem Research School has launched a fellowship program for postdoctoral researchers with the aim to integrate them into the university’s research networks in an early phase of their career. Consistent with the university’s institutional strategy, its purpose is to reinforce the international dimension of Freie Universität’s research by supporting highly-qualified postdocs from abroad.

The REGAIN Program provides funding for outstanding international postdoctoral fellows to conduct their own research project in one of the university’s Focus Areas. Postdoctoral researchers from all nationalities including German with a maximum of 6 years postdoc experience are eligible, provided they hold at least one German degree and have international research experience. Candidates may not have lived in Germany for more than 6 months within the 24 months prior to the application deadline. Each research fellowship is awarded for 18 months. At the end of the funding period, REGAIN fellows are expected to apply for further funding for a subsequent research project at Freie Universität Berlin.
