The Dahlem Research School (DRS) is the Center for Junior Researchers at Freie Universität Berlin – a place of intellectual excitement and world-class research that offers an extraordinary array of disciplines.
The aim of the DRS is to increase the awareness of the needs of doctoral candidates and postdocs in general and to implement sustainable structures to support them systematically. The two core elements of DRS are a professional development program tailored to junior researchers at different career stages and a fellowship program for outstanding postdocs.
The DRS Postdoc Fellowship Program aims to integrate postdoctoral researchers into the university’s interdisciplinary and international research networks in an early phase of their career. It provides funding for outstanding postdoctoral fellows to conduct their own research project.
In addition, it supports the fellows through
integration into excellent research groups and facilitation of new co-operations in a stimulating research environment
development of teaching and leadership skills
professional guidance on obtaining research funding.
