A cooperation between Freie Universität Berlin, Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Humboldt University Berlin and Technical University Berlin will support start-ups on campus within the project "University Startup Factory”. The project is funded by the European Social Fund and the Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Research with about 855.000 Euro, which are disposable from August 2016 to December 2017 to support founders with technology-based ideas.
The core of the "University Startup Factory” are scholarships, each of 1,500 Euro/per month for a period of six months with an option to extend, which will be awarded to the members of selected start-up teams. The application is open to university graduates with a technology-based business concept and technical or complementary skills that are necessary to implement the start-up projects. The founding teams will be supervised by the respective university and will benefit from the close connection to research groups and to technical infrastructure. Further criteria for the scholarship are a full-time dedication to the start-up project and a residence in Berlin. The deadline of the second round of funding is the 20th of November 2016.
