Song Hwee Lim is Associate Professor in the Department of Cultural and Religious Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is the author of two monographs, Celluloid Comrades: Representations of Male Homosexuality in Contemporary Chinese Cinemas (2006) and Tsai Ming-liang and a Cinema of Slowness (2014). The founding editor of the Journal of Chinese Cinemas, he is also co-editor of Remapping World Cinema: Identity, Culture and Politics in Film (2006) and The Chinese Cinema Book (2011). Lim obtained his PhD from Cambridge, and taught at Leeds and Exeter universities for over ten years before joining CUHK in January 2014.

Song Hwee Lim will teach a seminar within the Global Humanities Campus entitled Speed and Slowness in Contemporary Film Culture. He will also give a Lecture cum Seminar with the topic: Walking in the City: Impossible Temporalities in Tsai Ming-liang’s Recent Works.
