Powermanagement bei Windows 7

You can configure your PC’s power management function by following the steps below. This will enable your computer to automatically switch to energy-saving mode or to hibernate when the computer is not in use.

When you return to your desk and want to resume your work, just touch one of the keys on the keyboard (e.g. the spacebar) or the power switch on the front of the monitor. After just a few seconds the PC will be ready for use.  
 

Instructions for configuring the power saving mode for Windows 7

Step 1:

Click start
(Windows symbol or start symbol at the bottom left of the task bar)

Step 2:

In the field "Search programs and files" at the bottom left, type in “power options” and then click on power options when it pops up in the window

Step 3:

Under Balanced (recommended), click on Change plan settings

 

 

Step 4:

Choose settings:

Shut down monitor after 10 minutes
Power saving mode after 20 minutes

Step 5:

Save changes and close the window

 

Instructions for configuring the hibernating mode for Windows 7

Step 1:

Access power options (see above steps 1-4)

Step 2:

Click on Change advanced power settings

 

Step 3:

+ hard drive

  + switch hard drive off after

          Setting: 20 minutes

(click on the + symbol each time)

Step 4:

+ Sleep

  + Allow hybrid sleep

       Setting: On

+ Hibernate after

        Setting: 60 minutes

Step 5:

Confirm by clicking on OK 

Step 6:

Save changes and close the window

Tip: Please shut your PC down correctly at the end of the working day, in order to ensure that updates can be installed and that system operations can be carried out without any problems.
