International Conference to Celebrate the Visit of Charles de Gaulle to Novosibirsk

As part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Franco-Russian scientific relations and the visit of the French president Charles de Gaulle to Novosibirsk, Novosibirsk National Research State University, National Research Tomsk State University, and Tomsk Polytechnic University jointly organise an International Scientific-Practical Conference «Cooperation with European universities in Siberia: problems and solutions». It will take place from April 18 - 22 in Novosibirsk and Tomsk.
Purpose of the conference is to develop academic and scientific cooperation between Siberia and Europe with a special focus on France and is intended for vice-rectors, heads, and experts of the universities’ international services as well as managers and members of regional centers for international cooperation and academic mobility.
Objectives are the discussion of technologies and mechanism for improving international cooperation between universities in the context of competitiveness enhancement in the world market of education and science, searching for new approaches and mechanisms for joint promotion of partner universities in the international education market and world rankings, discussion of possibilities of strengthening scientific cooperation between European and Siberian universities and research centers, and others.
Tobias Stüdemann, head of the Moscow office of Freie Universität Berlin, will give a talk on "The Development of Cooperation between Universities and the Role of Student Exchange".
