RoSMU, DWIH, DFG, and DAAD Organize Interregional Forum for Young Scientists in Archangelsk

The interregional Forum ‘International Cooperation among Young Scientists: The Northern Dimension’ will be taking place in Archangelsk on November 22-23, 2011. The forum is organized by the Russian Union of Young Scientists (RoSMU), Northern (Arctic) Federal University, the German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH), the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists, and the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Archangelsk Region.
The two-day event was visited by more that 100 young scientists from all over Russia, who networked over the course of two days and exchanged views on current issues, tendencies, and priorities in international cooperation in the area of ecology and environment protection as well as improvement of efficiency of the socio-economic development of the region. Also taking place will be presentations of activities and programs by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation, DWIH, and Freie Universität Berlin.
Tobias Stüdemann, the head of Freie Universität Berlin's liaison office in Moscow, will not only be presenting an overview of Freie Universität's activities and research programs, but also holding a workshop on “International Scientific Career: Requirements, Approaches and Tendencies of Development” for young scientists interested in a scientific career abroad. The discussion with the help of practice examples and current developments will be focused on opportunities and chances, as well as successful strategies.
