Linguistic Lectures at Goethe Institute and Moscow Lomonossov University

At the end of October, Prof. Norbert Dittmar from the Institute of German and Dutch Languages and Literatures of the Department of Philosohpy and Humanities at Freie Universität Berlin held two lectures in Moscow. At the Goethe Institute he talked about "Has the split German tongue grown together again? Sociolingiustic diagnosis of linguistical reunification after 20 years" and at the Moscow State Lomonosov University on "Upheaval and Linguistic Change: Spoken German after Reunification." The main focus of the lectures was on the linguistic changes in spoken German since reunification, which were explained with many examples of sociolingustic corpora taken for this purpose.
